Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area sits a few miles east of Atlanta. This granite monadnock used to be influenced by the hand of man, as it was once a quarry. The area is today a place of metamorphosis where wetlands, pine forests, lakes and a vast exposed formation of granite collide. In winter, the red diamorpha, a rare, native plant grows in the shallow pits of the rock.
